Keebie, I hope that you trump the experience detailed in Time Flies and that your birthday this year turns out to be the best day you've ever had! I hope you have a nice rest from touring and that you stay healthy :)
Rivers I would just like to ask, as a musican of course I want to make it to the top. I'm only 14 but could you just give me your advice on how you write your songs like your lyrics your guitar playing your influences, and how did you make it big? I know you moved to California after highschool and was discovered but I mean to a muscian what advice can you give me? Thanks so much and keep rocking
Just re-read my comment and realised it sounded like I was saying Nigel Godrich should rerecord those songs with you, which isn't what I meant haha. What I was trying to express is that I think that Nigel would work well with your non-typical, bombastic composing style and he'd bring out the best in you while in the studio!
Hey Rivers, I listened to OK Computer today and I was thinking that if your decision to cover Paranoid Android is indicative of the direction you're taking Weezer into perhaps you should look into getting Nigel Godrich to produce your next album. The guy's got a flawless track record and if the ambitious and creatively taxing stuff you've hinted at writing for the next Weezer release is a similar vein to some of your recent pop departures like Pig, The Spider and The Angel and the One I think he'd be the perfect guy to help you nail the recording of them. Those three aforementioned Weezer songs are among your all-time best and well-executed compositions, but the thought of having Neil Godrich's trademark dense intervention contributing to things like Pig's crescendo, Angel's slow ascension and The Spider's delicate texture is goddamn euphoric!
