Yay!! I sooo can not wait to hear this stuff in person! Oh and this website needs an edit button for the comments because I realized later that my last comment made no sense... I meant to cap. I'm not you and my.. lmao, that's what happens when I write stuff in the middle of the night :-P
Quite the contrary! I'm honored that YOU are part of MY story/life. I've never really been to a concert (just an American Idol show my husband made me go to) and I'm finally going to be able to see you guys live in January. I'm so excited!! BTW-- I have two sons.. the one I talked about in the previous message and I have an 8yr old too. I had him young (I was almost 18) and he claims Weezer is his favorite band too. I think he's just trying to be ultra cool like his mama though ;)
We used to skip and self edit when our kids were younger. But that pretty much ended when we took them to see Green Day this summer. And they are old enough now to understand the concept of "artistic expression". My son is still a little to young for the "birds and the bees" talk. So for now, we just tell him that sex is kissing and stuff. Thank goodness he hasn't asked about the "stuff" part yet.
We don't skip it...is that bad? I guess it depends on how old the kids in question are. Mine are 10 and 8 and it's no worse than the things they hear on the bus. Oh, and they happen to know that you don't put sex in the washing machine, really...
Besides, they'd never be so inconsiderate as to ruin the continuity of Mommy's Weezer CD. That would just be rude. :-P
I don't blame your wife. I skip that one too when my sons are around. I was 12 when Pinkerton came out and my mom refused to buy it for me because of "Tired of Sex"... I was so upset at the time but I completely understand now. My younger son has autism and he doesn't talk. The other day my husband got mad at the cat and was like "Damn cat!" and wouldn't you know it.. my nearly mute child repeats "AM AT!!!"
