Thanks to everyone who's going to try to post blog entries this month! This should be fun!
For my writing prompt tonight, I landed on a Karl's Corner entry from 2003 that was about phase 1 of the album 5 recording sessions. The topic of recording sessions is particularly intriguing now that we've heard plans are in the works for the next weezer album.
If you've been around the forum here or anywhere else that weezer fans gather, it's clear there's a lot of passion for the band and excitement for the next album (I'm also pretty stoked to hear that Alone IV is a glimmer in someone's eye and will be released! Yay!). It's just incredibly exciting for me to know that there will be more music - the shows this year have been incredible, the guys seem tighter than ever, Rivers has had some complete shredfests (I hope there's a bootleg for the Cincinnati show on the way!), and next year marks 20 years since the first album was released. What better way to celebrate than with an incredible new album?
2014 is shaping up to be amazing - the second weezer cruise takes place in February and will be a really great time. There are some contests going on for cruisegoers, so if you are going, hie thee over to facebook to the weezer cruise page so you can get the scoop on the contest(s). Right now an instagram contest is underway and today a very happy fan won front row seats for one of the weezer shows on the cruise.
Please join us in blogging all month here - it will be fun and may spark some good conversation.
