2011/08/06 Del Mar, CA: Del Mar Racetrack

Today we return to the Del Mar Racetrack, a year older, a year wiser, a year more laser-like in rock precision! The Racetrack setup is an unusual one, where bands play once the horses have stopped racing for the day, in an environment that resembles a county fair, only surrounded by a mile long oval of equestrian glory.

Last year everyone reported massive traffic issues on the I-5, so allow plenty of time to get down there if you are going - Weezer is scheduled to start the rock at 7 PM!

The night was nearly ruined by these girls that cut to the front of me half way through the setlist with excuse that they were getting out of the pit cause she had crutches----only to stop in front of me and beginning watching the concert from where I previously was(I allowed them to pass). She had the nerve (after blatantly lying to me) to then complain that she was being smushed in the pit demanding special treatment cause she had crutches and everyone had to "gtfo f***". Anyway, she got hers, she lost her phone. Karma I say.

In short, you nearly ruined the concert blond crutch b**** wearing heels (YES HEELS, on both feet, imo she was faking it) to the pit. Good riddance!

the Weez killed it though, the Pumped Up Kicks cover is still bumping in my head not 3 days later (and still going strong).

I tweeted Scott asking what time it was at since it didn't say anywhere on the site, & he actually tweeted back with the answer. That pretty much made my day. So we left Vegas around 1 & hit tons of traffic at one point. It was already 6:45 & we were about 30 miles away from SD and we needed to stop & get gas so there was no way. Amazingly we made it somehow (i may or may not have been speeding...)! Got there at 7:30ish & the guys didn't start playing for another 15 minutes or so :)

I also have never seen crazy mosh pits at a Weezer concert...so this was a first! I managed to make it to the front on the Pat's side. So freaking cool, they put on such an awesome show.
