2011/07/29 Wantagh NY: Nikon Jones Beach Ampitheatre: Flaming Weezer Lips #2

...WOW folks, the show last night was right at the limits of what can be described in words. An amazing experience, lets call it for now. And tonight we do it all again but this time at Jones Beach! After yesterdays super hectic (yet kinda hilarious) soundcheck / rehearsal leading right into the showtime, today should hopefully be a bit calmer - till showtime of course, when all forms of calmness will be officially banished from the area till the last lights go down at the end of the night!

Attending tonight is Mikey Welsh, weezer alumnus from the class of 1998-2001. He picked a good one to come hang out at!

I got to meet Weezer before the show at a brief meet & greet from RXP but cameras were prohibited. An employee from Live Nation took one photo per guest but I have no idea how we are supposed to get them. If anyone knows how then please advise! Thanks so much.

Comment by Lisa on August 1, 2011 at 7:48am: Still on raincloud 9 from this show. I thought it was incredible!! I had never seen the flaming lips live -- I thought they had a great stage show and were very interactive and entertaining.

I appreciate all the pics people are posting - I used my phone and mine turned out kind of blurry. I don't think I captured anything that would be very good, so I look forward to Karl's pics and pics from other concertgoers!

Comment by chaz on July 31, 2011 at 11:09am: Do not really care much for the flaming lips.. So the alternating set thing didn't exactly work for me and the group of people i went with to the show. During the flaming lips sets, we were more intrigued by the kids dressed as characters from the wizard of oz, grinding on each other like they were on serious drugs? WTF was that about?
