...Todays show is at the home of the Montreal Canadiens NHL team, in the massive Brian Bell Centre For the Culinary Arts. Brian was honored that they named the Centre after him, and is happy to be rocking out in his second home. Tonight Jack's Mannequin is the opening act, and they are rocking it out as these words are being written in fact...

Comment by Nicolas Chow Chin Sung on July 6, 2011 at 6:07am That was an awesome show. My sox were thoroughly blown off. I brought my blue album just in case I might have a chance to get an autograph, and a waved it in the air the whole show! I'm sure you guys saw me in the general admission, but I understand that you can't just go signing a single person's stuff.
It was special to get to sing the whole blue album and rock out with you guys. COME TO MONTREAL AGAIN!!!

Comment by Fernando R M on July 5, 2011 at 4:57am I've been following =W= site since it exists and I haven't seen a set list as good as this one that they played in Canada (see Dom comments).
I'm too jealous, because I'm Brazilian and we have had just one =w= concert in Brazil. I wish they played in Brazil again with that set list ...
And I hope that the set list they played in this concert is a tendency for the next album...

Comment by melissa selagi on July 4, 2011 at 7:41am Best concert I have ever been to!!! Thanks so much!! and I agree with John, Rivers walking through the audience was incredible, what a performer!!!
Wouldve liked an encore, I stuck around for about 10-15 mins after haha but still it was an incredible show and a great finish (which is probably why there was no encore), there are no words to describe how amazing "only in dreams" was. Really really, an unbelievable show.
Also, I was beyond ecstatic that they played some stuff from Pinkerton and You gave your love to me softly was also amazing!!! I could go on and on about how amazing every song was, but I'll leave it at this: Nothing can beat Weezer in concert.
Comment by John Hurteau on July 4, 2011 at 7:38am Really one of the most amazing show I saw in my life. Rivers walking across the audience was incredible. I would have liked to have more, but could not hope of a better ending. Having the chance to see you guys playing the Blue Album was one of the greatest moment in my life.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Comment by Dom on July 4, 2011 at 7:32am Rivers, Brian, Pat, Scott, Josh and Karl,
THANK YOU so much from the bottom of my heart! Thank you for being so generous to us. You guys took us so much by surprise with that impromptu setlist change. The second I heard the drum pattern and first guitar sustained note of Tired of Sex, I was overwhelmed with joy. Right after that song, when Brian played the false start piano intro of Across the Sea, I became ecstatic. And when Rivers announced that the setlist would focus mainly on Pinkerton and B-Sides, I think it was at that moment that my head imploded from such a rush of joy and excitement. No word is strong enough to describe the awesomeness of the show. Amazing, Epic and Freakin' awesome. Seriously. And finally, the Blue Album portion of the show was one of the most greatest moment in my life. A stellar performance. That entire night will stay engraved on my heart and my mind forever. You guys rocked!!!!
Setlist of Epic Epicness:
(First Half) HashPipe, Tired of Sex, Pink Triangle, Suzanne, Island in the Sun, Falling For You, El Scorcho, You Gave Your Love To Me Softly, Across The Sea, Porks and Beans
(Second half) Blue Album: My Name Is Jonas, No One Else, The World Has Turned And Left Me Here, Buddy Holly, Undone (The Sweater Song), Surfwax America, Say It Ain't So, In The Garage, Holiday, Only In Dreams
Comment by Sebastien Theriault on July 4, 2011 at 7:01am Thanks so much for the amazing show at Woodstock! I waited an hour before the show to get a good spot. I was surrounded by 20 year old kids and I felt like a little 20 year olk kid myself (and I'm 40 now ;o))! I've known Weezer since the beginning (blue album). Was at the University back then. Always been a big fan. I play in a band called The Counselors (www.thecounselorsmusic.com and we were playing the same day at Woodstock but on the smaller stage. Since Weezer had played in TO the night before, I thought Weezer would be arriving later in the day but you guys apparently arrived early morning. I wanted to talk to Rivers and give him my 2 CDs. He's always been a big influence musically and inspired me to keep playing music. I really wish I could have met you guys and talk a little bit. I met Andrew and Jack's Mannequin tour manager back stage at the other stage and they offered me a pair of tickets for the Mtl show (very nice of them!). Unfortunately I couldn't make it to Mtl. Anyways, I've been playing music for a long time and it's always been hard for us to reach bigger audience and I just wanted to give my CDs to Rivers so that he lets me know what he thinks about it and maybe refer me to someone in NY or LA who could help us in our 'career'. From our web site, you can download our latest EP for free. http://thecounselors.bandcamp.com/album/brooklyn-sessions
Please, let me know what you think of the music and if you could refer me to someone who could help us, that would be amazing! I would be forever grateful. I'm so disapointed I couldn't met you guys (I didn't have the bigger stage backstage pass...). Here's my personal email address: requiem15@yahoo.com
Cheers and please come back to Quebec City one day!
Sebastien
