Growing up with Weezer can teach you a lot. Of course, missing Weezer in their prime is a sad misfortune that I yell at my parents for everyday: WHY COULDN'T I HAVE BEEN BORN EARLIER SO I COULD'VE EXPERIENCED BUDDY HOLLY FOR THE FIRST TIME WHEN EVERYONE ELSE DID??? Of course, being born in 1993, I was around when that was released, but I didn't really know the song. It wasn't until Hash Pipe in 2001 that I got into Weezer unfortunately. And I was only about 7 or 8! As I've grown older and now am entering my senior year of high school, I've really related to a lot of the lyrics Rivers used to write back in the 90s. Themes of isolation, love, sex, loneliness. They all linger around in my everyday life. Rivers has inspired me to become a songwriter/musician, which is what I hope to accomplish once I leave high school..
I think that about covers how Weezer has pretty much influenced my musical career.
