What is the something more???

Rivers has not been giving ME something more!!!
I listen to Weezer because I can relate to a lot of River's lyrics. Nerds unite! When I listen to Pinkerton, I can understand what he's singing about, and I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way. Plus, it's so goddamn catchy. That is all.
Because it "feels good...inside."
Although I don't listen to them nearly as much as I used to, the early stuff spoke to me as a guy in my teens and 20s. Now, as I've matured in general and as a musician my draw to them is pretty much from a musical standpoint. The first two albums that is...
I listen to weezer because they never get stale. Everytime they put out an album it sounds different than the previous album. People argue all the time that their new stuff is garbage or people complain because it doesn't sound like pinkerton or whatever but I've enjoyed every album thus far and if you want them to sound like pinkerton so bad, go listen to that album. I think a lot of people like certain bands because bands usually have a particular sound or style and they continue to follow that band because of that sound or style but weezer is not like most bands in the fact that they change it up and try different flavors and I think they get a lot of hate for it but I think true fans understand this. I know when people ask me to show them weezer it is hard to show someone one song and have them understand the band because of all the diversity. In fact I'll admit that the first time I heard a weezer song, I hated them. It was Beverly hills and I was not impressed. But after listening to everything else I understood that the song Beverly hills is just ONE song, on ONE weezer album (and nowadays I can listen to Beverly hills and enjoy it) I also find that weezer, for me at least, is the perfect combo of rock and pop. It's not poppy enough to be played on "popular radio" but its not hard enough rock for serious rock fans to rock out to. In conclusion, weezer keeps it fresh and thats the way I like it. =W=
What do you guys think? Am I completely wrong?
No. You are not.

because i'm too lazy to actively discover other music
because my mom loved Island in the Sun and I got into them
Because they told me if I don't, well... "Accidents happen," they said...
They seem like genuinely fun human beings.
Most acts I meet and listen to are massive tools that produce good music.

I like distorted guitar strummed at a reasonable pace. I like thoughtful lyrics that take me a while to get, or never.

Weezer has an aura of authenticity, and always has, that I enjoy when I listen or watch them. They're dudes I could listen to or hang out with if all I had was a kiddie pool, a garden hose, a cooler full of beer, and half a dozen lawn chairs.
This is a great question and I put a bunch of thought into providing the most thoughtful and eloquent response I could.

In college after I had JUST turned 18 I met this tan, pretty blond girl named Kim. Not only that, she was 21, which meant she could get me booze and such, plus my friends thought I was cool to be going out with an 'older' woman.

The beginning was great, sex was terrific (naturally,) and she was new and interesting. Yes, I knew that one day she would get that "I'm-blond-and-spent-too-much-time-in-the-sun-and-my-skin-is-super-wrinkled -and leathery-even-though-I'm-only-35" look, but my b**** didn't care.

We went out for about 6 months until I decided to be a bastard and write her a Dear Jane letter while I was on vacation in Europe, but lo and behold when I came back she still wanted to let me hit it (what? girls DON'T like a-holes?) so I did, until something size D and Italian came along, but that is neither here nor there.

In any event, we remained friends for several years after college as she was also originally from southern California. And on occasion, during lulls/periods of ennui, I'd hit that s***. It just wasn't the same as when she was 21, but dang it still had its great moments.

Sure she felt a wee bit heavier while riding me, and there were a few more smile lines, and overall gravity had taken its toll, but there were moments that made me remember the wilder and more fun times of my youth that I had shared with her. Plus she could still suck a golf ball through 50 feet of garden hose.

Weezer may not be as good (yeah yeah, I know, they've just 'evolved') as back in the Blue/Pink days, but Weezer can still suck that golf ball.

Suck it, Weezer. Suck away, babe.

Epilogue:

I later discovered that most Asian girls age really well.
¿que?
