Does anyone know what's next for Weezer? Album? Tour? etc.? I get the feeling it's downtime time now.

All we know is that Rivers is working on new songs and there's not many shows planned on the horizon (according to Cladeedah).

Permalink Reply by Allison Paulis on January 31, 2012 at 1:55pm He mentioned in several 2010 interviews that a new album that was supposed to come out in 2011, so they either never got started on that or it was shelved. I wouldn't be too shocked if a new album popped up this year. I have unusually high expectations for their next release - Rivers surrounded himself with cool (some younger) alt. bands on the cruise, so I'm thinking the next effort might be less mainstream minded, especially since they're over the transition hump (Hurley) that took them from the gigundo label to Epitaph. We'll see.
Permalink Reply by Radioactive on January 31, 2012 at 2:08pm I would really like to see some 20th stuff later in the year. A documentary or live album would be cool. Esp. the doc... with live footage, music videos, etc. starting from their early years up to the Weezer Cruise or something. Greatest Hits release, a few more two-night live shows that maybe aren't Memories shows, but showcase a lot of variety in their career... and Green deluxe!!
Those are my votes :)

Permalink Reply by Zach Smith on January 31, 2012 at 9:51pm I am sure plenty of Weezer fans would love to see the drama of Matt Sharp from the perspective of the band and Matt. Back and Forth was just honest even when it made Dave look like a d***. That would be awesome.
