What Band Does Weezer Remind You Of?

Well, it's like if you notice Julian Casablancas reminds me of the lead vocalist from the Doors. Who does Rivers and the rest of the Crew remind you of?

I think the question is what band reminds me of Weezer because Weezer are the originals in their sound. :)

Weezer was the first band I ever liked. I used to dance to Elton john and Billy Joel as a child, but besides those two, I wasn't exposed to music from my parents, just Prairie Home Companion.

So in short, Weezer doesn't remind me of anyone. Everyone else reminds me of weezer. I get the Beach Boys references, but I really don't like Nirvana, so I don't think get those references.
