Weezer in Chicago this weekend! Let's talk about it
I am flying out to chicago this weekend to go to both shows. I went to the friday night show in NY and loved it so much I just had to go out to Chicago. So, what did others think about the shows on this tour? Has anyone been to the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago? Is it a nice place to see a show? Did people like this sort of small venue tour or would you rather see them at a large venue? Do you think they will do anything different for the last show on this mini-tour? I have seen a lot of bands live and I think weezer is the best. Anyone else have thoughts on that?

Well I can't help you out much because I've never even been to Chicago. I can tell you this though-- There is not another band in this entire world I would drive that far to get to. I know I'm not flying in from California like one person I talked to but I'm a small town girl who lives in the middle of cornfields, 5 hours is a big commitment! However, due to me being from such a secluded area, I'm actually glad it's going to be in a small venue.
What I can tell you though is I'm more excited than I've been in years. I feel like I'm 8 years old waiting on Christmas! Although I've been a fan for a long, long time.. I've never been to a live =w= show (just never had the op and/or money to go)... so I'm so excited to FINALLY see this band I've loved since I was nearly 10 years old!

I've been to the Aragon twice to see Weezer before, both good experiences, it is a small place, for sure... I have seen Weezer at both large and small venues before, and definitely prefer the small, there's so much more energy in a close together crowd... I am so excited for these shows even though I've seen Weezer several times before, but there is definitely something special about this memories tour... I agree with the whole kid at Christmas feeling :) See you all in a few days!

hey....just want to let you know how cool it is that you are pumped and psyched for the shows this weekend as well. Obviously fans are gonna be counting down the days, but it really says something when you are too! Friday in NY was so great and now I am gonna fly to chi-town to see both shows. Maybe I should have done the smart thing and seen the shows in my hometown of boston like a normal person might have, instead of going to NY and IL....haha.

I completely agree with the small venues. I was at roseland ballroom in NY for the blue night and it was amazing. The small venue is just better sounding, more intensity....just all around amazing. I can't wait....only 2 days!

I've been to six or so Weezer shows over the years, but i took a noobie to their show for the raditude tour at Aragon. It blew his mind, and nearly mine as well. fortunately I knew what to expect from the Weez....total fun and excitement. Aragon is a cool place, the ceiling is trippy. doing the double VIP, my brother is coming in from pittsburgh for Pinkerton night VIP.

I have never looked forward to a concert more than this... not even the time I saw Prince twice in one day. This will be my third & fourth Weezer show and my first time seeing 8/10 of Pinkerton and My favorite songs on Blue. I wonder if we'll get any surprises like Jamie in NYC. Even if we don't, I will be more than ecstatic when it comes to these shows.

You are going to enjoy it so much. When I saw them a few weeks ago for the blue album, the sound was just great. They were on point with every note and it sounded exactly like the album but better since it was live. I can't wait to fly out friday morning.

I agree and I am wondering if they will do anything different since it is the last 2 shows on the small venue tour. Could they mix in a different song here or there for the hits sets? Jaime like NY? or maybe something else? Personaly, I may possibly pee my pants from excitement if they played "This is such a pity", "all my friends are insects", "I don't want to let you go" or "tripping down the freeway". Whatever happens will happen, but any way you slice it, it is weezer so it will be great!
