There is an event every year at Penn State called The Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THON) that every year raises money and support for kids with pediatric cancer by dancing for 46 hours. THON is the largest student run philanthropy in the world that last year raised $7.8 million for kids with cancer. We do more than raise money, however. Throughout the year we spend time with the THON kids and their families to provide outstanding emotional support and essentially give these kids the childhood that they deserve.
My name is Kevin Swanson and I am one of the Entertainment - Bands Captains for THON 2011. I am alerting you the best I can because the THON season culminates in February with THON Weekend, which is the 46 hours where 700 dancers don't sit or sleep to show our support for these kids. It is a huge party that includes all sorts of performers, especially BANDS! We are taking a long shot here, but if any of you have an interest in helping us out please get in contact with me at firstname.lastname@example.org. It would mean the world to everyone if you could help us out. If you are interested in finding out more, feel free to check out www.thon.org

Thank you for your music and I hope to possibly hear from you!
