England got some shows last year, it's Ireland that's been let down here. '05 was their last (not including festivals) The way I see it is like this: if Memories tickets can sell in Auckland they can sell in Dublin.

I completely hate these threads begging a band to travel on the whim of a person who just happens to have a reliable wifi.
I think we were really lucky that =w= played a proper show at Brixton last year because they were only supposed to be doing festivals, but thankfully they gave th English fans what they wanted and it was th best concert of my life. Since their doing a big tour in January next year they might do some more tours around the world, plus they haven't released anything in nearly 2 years now so hopefully 2013 will be the year when they release something becuase 3 years is long enough. It would be ncie to see them play on American shows and promote albums again.
Permalink Reply by MaxFrancis on July 22, 2012 at 10:40am Yeah I think England shouldn't be too disappointed of Weezer! They have played some festivals and even a club show there in 2011, there are a lot more countries that haven't seen the weez for so much longer...
But I totally agree with you, Hugh, it's definitely time for a new album and this time it needs some serious promotion. The things they did for Hurley were nothing but a bad joke. Hoping that other people promote your album on youtube? Well we know how that worked out...
A world tour would be helpful too, of course, but I don't consider that as very realistic as 3/4 of weezer have their own family.

Permalink Reply by MaxFrancis on July 23, 2012 at 3:13pm Yeah I know that but we are talking about Weezer and especially Rivers Cuomo. And it seems to me that after rivers got married he didn't take the band as serious any more as he did before. When was the last "real tour" of Weezer? Right, in 2005 supporting Make Believe (it's a real tour for me when bands play at least 20 shows a month and a minimum of 50 shows in total). After that rivers got married and also a father and his interest in serious touring declined in my personal opinion. Look at the days of Maladroit for example, rivers said himself that the band was his complete life at that time. You can't compare that to nowadays... Today it seems that weezer is more kind of a hobby for rivers and he does it when he has time and when he wants to do it (not to say he doesn't love music anymore - he surely does!!!). but there are other parts of his life that are simply more important to him. However, i would appreciate it so much if they would play "real" tours again all over the world. Otherwise their fanbase is going to decline even more than it is already doing right now (and for the past few years).
