Similar/borrowed riffs off other bands

Upon listening to a town called malice by the jam, I noticed the bassline is pretty much the exact same as " I want you to", so I'm just wondering is there any other songs(either weezer or any other bands) where you've noticed dangerously close similarites musically with another song.

Just to clarify, The Loco-Motion was written by Carole King and Gerry Goffin, then originally recorded and performed by Little Eva.

Weezer to Weezer The World Has Turned- "Do you believe what I sing now" part and Heart songs part that sounds like it.

At that time he sings "these are the songs I keep singing" at the end.....I like how in my head I hear "do you believe what I sing now" because of the guitar
