Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if Moshi Moshi is a tribute to Weezer given the sonic similarities, the references to Japanese culture and Jesse Lacey being a huge fan of the first two Weezer releases (he recently covered El Scorcho impromptu after a fan suggested it in concert)

If by 'similar to' you mean 'influential to' then start with Pixies, Beach Boys, Nirvana

I hear some beatles influence. Always sounds a lot like the beatles imo

Bands like Green Day and Jimmy Eat World aren't really all that similar to Weezer, but a lot of Weezer fans like these bands and a lot of their fans like Weezer.

Wheatus immediately springs to mind. 

 

The band Manchester Orchestra released an album called 'Mean Everything to Nothing' for which they purposefully used Pinkerton as the main influence of.
