I've wanted to see the Memories tour so badly, and I just got my tickets to Riot Fest.

I think that at a punk rock festival, people would love to hear older stuff compared to newer stuff.

Play it like Vegas, and play Blue and Pinkerton!

The crowd would respond more to that than newer hits like "Pork and Beans"

I know I would.

Please consider.

Anyone on this forum know if something like this might happen?

festival show means festival set.

But its a punk festival, and its not really even a festival.

You pay to see Weezer individually, its just associated with Riot Fest.

Im thinking it might happen.

Wishful thinking.

Scott Heisel (journalist for Alternative Press) says more details about the show will be released on Wednesday. Doesn't sound like just greatest hits to me, Max. Maybe you'll get your wish.

It would feel kinda weird to do this though, since Chicago already had a Memories show in January. Not sure why they would get another one.

I do know there will be some major fans there who can sing along to more than Beverly Hills and Buddy Holly! :)  AAAAHGHHHH! Less than one month!  Concerticipation begins!  Can't wait to hear the details, thanks for the tip!
The facebook for Congress Theater said "Big announcement coming your way via Weezer mext week... grab your tickets before they're gone".  At first I figured this just meant that the other bands were being announced, but it would be weird for Weezer to be the one to give that news instead of Riot Fest, so I think it may be them playing the Blue Album or something along that line.  I would like to find out who else is playing though too!  But it actually is a festival.  You can buy a pass for all the shows, which I do every year.

I understand that its a fest, but it is also more geared towards the individual shows as well, so its a little different.

I really wanted to go to the other shows this year, but do to money I have to stick with Weezer.

Exited about the news!!!!

:D

I got you.  In past Riot Fests the headliner of each show has only played for an hour, but I was already questioning if that would be the case this time considering that Social Distortion only has two bands playing with them thus far and Riot Fest has given no indication that more bands will be announced for that show and they have said that each of Danzig's bands will have a pretty long set.  So hopefully that means that Weezer would be given enough time to do the Blue Album and Pinkerton or one of them and a Greatest Hits setlist.  But we shall see when the other bands get announced I guess.

2 things.

1. Where did everyone hear that there would be news on Wednesday? I can't find anything like that said anywhere.

2. For people that have gone to recent shows, do they sell the Blue and Pinkerton shirts at the shows, even if it isnt a Memories show?

Well, Congress Theater said on its facebook that there would be an announcement coming from Weezer this week and someone from AP said that the announcement was coming on Wednesday.
Max: there were blue and pinker ton shirts at the state fair show I saw a week ago.
Can I just say that the prospect of Chicago getting another memories show is just a little bit ridiculous and a concept which I'm not that into? I mean I liked it when the memories shows felt like special one-time events. I guess this won't cheapen my memories from Chicago, it just feels a little unfair to fans in states and countries which are still clamouring for a memories show.
Those shows sold out pretty quick thought, so it is fair to fans in Chicago that weren't able to get tickets to the ones they had before, if that even is what the news is.  The news could easily be something else.
