Thanks, Marie!

It didn't take terribly long (no surprise to blueperton ; ). Once I had the chorus/theme it was pretty clear sailing...perhaps I should rework the verses a bit or add a third one. All in all, maybe an hour or so.

I could use some musical inspiration. I tried recording this once, but couldn't quite get it right (vocals were a large part of the problem; mine are more in line with Death Cab For Cutie).

If anyone wants to take a stab at recording this, that would be awesome. It would be interesting to hear what people come up with.

i really like that challenge, but i really don't like this poem thing. but maybe i'll do it anyway if someone doesn't beat me to it. sorry it's just a big cheesefest for me.

Essentially, yeah, it's pure cheese, though I like to think some deeper meaning could be extracted from individual lines. In a context broader than the titular subject, it's about taking things for granted:

"Everybody wants true love

But then they go and

Master the art of sabotage"

"Right now your sound maybe
Just sounds like sound to them, etc"

I also think the turn of phrase in the chorus is pretty cool (perhaps nifty even).

(Of course, I would say that ; )

But, yeah, obviously recording this isn't even a top priority for me. Besides, there's probably only one person who could turn this cheddar into gold. Or perhaps a decent bonus track.
