I think one of the major selling points was the fact that as I arrived at the venue, although the gates were closed, you could hear the band rehearsing "The Angel and The One." The eerie part is, just seconds before arriving, I had finished listening to The Red Album. It was just too much of a calling for me.
Welcome! It's good to hear you enjoyed the show. What were the highlights for you? I felt as though there was a good vibe in the audience. I'd never been to that venue before and so didn't know what to expect. I was happy to see people really getting into the songs, dancing and singing along.

Highlights? Hard to pick. If I really had to be honest, I felt the stronger half of the show was the pre-interval. I of course loved the Blue Album play through, but one thing I missed was not knowing which song was coming next. For me, that's the lifeblood of a gig, especially when it's a band that alters their setlist each night. Whereas, with the second half of the show, I knew precisely what was coming. Once again, nothing against the Blue album or the fact that they performed it, but at the same time it reminded me of what makes a live show so special when it comes to a setlist.
Regarding the first half of the show, I actually found they played all the songs I love. Island In The Sun had a nice grinding groove that isn't quite there in the studio version, Dope Noise sounded and looked great with the smoke machine while El Scorcho had me chanting quite loudly with the audience.
I also loved the actual pre-show vibe to it also while the support act was playing. I walked around the venue wearing my new t-shirt, music playing in the background, barmy weather with people just chilling out. It was just such a positive and relaxed vibe. I've been to the Bowl before to see Sting and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. That was one of my favourite shows of all time. I really love the Myer Bowl though, it has an atmosphere like no other. I'm seriously thinking of getting Guns n Roses tickets when they drop by.
