it was the last show ever with Matt Sharp. it was also the last show before the band took 3 years off. the last time That Dog ever played. might have been the last time the song Mykel & carli was played live.

I have seen weezer play countless times and in my opinion it was the best show they ever played.

who was there ?

mykel & Carli ran the original Weezer fanclub. they died along with there younger sister in a tragic car accident back in late 1997.
ha ha ha ha!

How weird that Weezer wrote a song then two people with the same names made a fan club!
Before I was a devout Weezer fan I thought the song was written after Mykel and Carli's death as a tribute to them. The fact that it was written before their deaths and it predicted their way of death in a car accident is the real spooky thing here.
Thanks for the insight on the song, i was hoping to find people who had been to the benefit concert.
Wasn't Matt Douche's bass out of tune the whole time?
cant't rember if the bass was in tune. too busy rocking out.
M&C deserve mad respect, always - no exceptions.

years ago someone sent me a VHS copy of the benefit show, it looked really beautiful and it was heartbreaking when rivers played the harmonica in the song, and so so sad to see M&C's family sad.
Yeah and you can watch that performance on youtube or google or whatever and it's very, VERY, sad. It's a must see for any Weezer fan but it is tough.

I have the show converted to dvd. besides the sad part it was one hell of a show. they opened with Jonas and closed with only in dreams.
