matt sharps current involment with weezer
is matt sharp involved with the making of pinkerton deluxe or is he going to join with them in the b********* tour bye any chance?

why are we assuming that matt is holding a grudge against rivers, or vice versa? you're forgetting that they got together for a show a number of years back, and were perfectly fine on stage together.
anyway, dude's busy with the rentals, so i kind of doubt he has any interest in playing a couple songs here or there with weezer. he has moved on.
If there was a grudge, why would Rivers ask Matt to play keys for the band during the MB era? And why would Rivers and Matt work on an album together?

i doubt it.
i used to think matt was the missing link to weezer. sorta like if you took the beatles, individually they're good but pale in comparison to when they're together.

the rentals are on hiatus. so i doubt he's "busy" with them.

Matt Sharp is no "missing link". He didn't write the songs, he didn't co-write the songs, he didn't write his own vocal parts, the synth-lines, his bass-lines, any of it. He was a stooge who contributed nothing more than his onstage energy. His presence is unnecessary and would not improve anything. The buck stops with Rivers.
But I suspect he's not all that into their new material, either.

I just get the impression that him and Rivers just can't get along professionally but are fine with each other otherwise. Maybe Matt just isn't that interested in anything to do with Weezer in the first place.

I agree we don't need Matt on this tour for his presence or whatever. But I will say Matt was the best bassist Weezer has had...period. I'm not a musician or anything, but I hear what I hear. Is it a coincidence that Weezer's two best albums included him? I'm not saying... I'm just saying.
