Make Believe - My Best Friend

I was looking for a song that explains my feelings for my best friend. After going through many songs, I decided to search up the words "Best Friend" in iTunes. It was then that I saw "My Best Friend" by Weezer and realized it was the perfect song. My best friend and I live on music and when I gifted "My Best Friend" to my best friend, it brought us much closer together. I want to thank you, Weezer. You made a big difference in our lives. I wish you could perform it live for my best friend, but we would never be able to afford booking you. Keep doing what you do best - singing your hearts out. If there's anyone out there that came together because of the song "My Best Friend" by Weezer, come together here and talk about it. This song got us both through hard times and if I had the money, I'd book you just to play that song for my best friend. If I had a little money, then I'd buy all your albums. Weezer, you're great. Your music did what you sing it for - you made our lives better and for that, we thank you.

it's a simple, sappy love song. it's a stretch to imply anything from that line, because as others have pointed out, it's not unusual for people to refer to their significant others as their best friend.

I still think the lyric means it's a blessing to have this girl as a friend and he's not going to try and form a relationship so as not to lose the friend. And I also still think this topic belongs in ATW.

Hey, sorry I originally posted in the wrong spot. I love this song because it's the perfect description of me and my best friend's relationship. I don't think it means to stay friends and not become closer. Like some people posted, your wife/husband is also your best friend and maybe that's who I'm posting about :-)
