Permalink Reply by placemats on October 9, 2011 at 8:09pm Your lists always make me wish I lived some place bigger and better. But then I'd probably be broke. Felt let down when I saw all of the Dinosaur Jr dates are during the week. Probably not going to happen.
Going to see Primus at the Wiltern, though. Never been there before, but it gets good reviews. What do you think of it?
Permalink Reply by Margaret's Horsey [Jupiter 80] on October 10, 2011 at 1:15am I actually like the Wiltern. Good atmosphere and not crowded with so many yuppies like in the amphitheaters around la such as Irvine Meadows (yea, I still call it that) or the Hollywood Bowl. Maybe it can be compared to the Orpheum to a degree. Although it is a good venue, they recently put a program in beta to have servers come and deliver drinks directly to the seat location. I really wish they wouldn't - but that's how I feel about it.
Hope you have fun at the show :-) PS. If you want an advice on parking, there is a church lot up the street that has a sign for 8 dollars or so. If you park there, there usually is no one there at the ticket booth to take any tickets for the day. Hence, free parking! \o/ (at least since the past few times I've parked there, no one has said anything to me or posted a tag on my car). This location is a bit up the street, but it is walking distance. If you want, I can probably find some directions for you.
The parking at the Wiltern is ridiculous - about 15-20 dollars! Good luck trying to find any street parking around the neighborhood - almost non-existent and too much of a hassle.

So jealous that you get a chance to see lots if good bands.
Also I just bought tickets to see Pigeon Detectives on 26th November. Should be a good show.
