Hello, I bought Hurley on vinyl the day it came out and some songs always hissed on the S's and the T's. These songs are: memories, unspoken, run away and smart girls. This was a problem with the vinyl as i tried it on several turntables.

So recently i purchased the same album but on red limited edition vinyl. It has the same probelm.

Has anyone else had this problem? or have i just been really unlucky. Or will all Hurley releases suffer from the same annoyance?  Thanks, Sam

I have no idea.  I'll listen tonight and let you know.
Ok thanks dude. But remember... once heard... can not un-hear.
i didn't hear anything that sounded off.  do you have dust on your needle?

A bad pressing of the Hurley LP?

All of them.

I have bought a new needle since the first vinyl arrived and tried it on several other players. Hmm.. annoying.. is there anyway you can determine the batch of the version you have? I want to find a working one. Kthx, Sam

I might be a problem with Rivers' microphone.... A lot of the songs on my iPod do that, I don't think it's a problem with the press or the turntables, or that it's even a problem.

It doesn't do it with the CD or MP3 versions. Hmm... how annoying >:0

Less care is spent pressing vinyl these days. The process is quite an art, and difficult to get right.

I think a lot of aquired knowledge has been lost over the last 20 years for both pressing and mastering. A lot of newly released stuff on vinyl sounds terrible.

True.  I find my 180 gram vinyl sound better than the thinner ones.....which is what all weezer vinyl are pressed on, especially the colored ones....besides the Red Album deluxe and Pinkerton Deluxe
