Check out this awesome new band!! In their videos they said that "Pinkerton" was the biggest inspiration for their new album. They used a lot of Weezer sounds and vibes as references when they were recording. I think that payed off for them in a big way!! What do you all think? That chick is really cute right!? Here's they're new music video:

Are there any other good bands out there who you think give off that brilliant Weezer vibe?

This band is from my country, Mexico, they say Weezer is an influence on their music, and this song has a really strong =W= vibe imo...

I really like it :) the drums at the beginning kinda sound like the drums in "My Name Is Jonas".

Rivers Cuomo said that Ozma sounds more like Weezer than even Weezer! Haha.

I'm a big fan of Ozma and had the chance to see them live 3 times and meet them. I like all the albums but many consider Rock and Roll Part 3 their best (I'd argue that Spending Time on the Borderline is just as good). Even the singers in Ozma sound similar to Weezer. Definitely check them out!

Of course Matt Sharp's band, The Rentals, offer a similar sound. Also worth checking out.

"Longview" is a song and the first major-label single by the American punk rock band Green Day. It is the fourth track on the band's third album, Dookie (1994). The song was the band's first single to top the Modern Rock chart in the U.S. The music video for this song received heavy airplay on MTV and is largely credited for breaking Green Day into mainstream popularity.
The song describes intense boredom. Lyrically, the song is about a day spent sitting around the house, doing absolutely nothing of importance, masturbating, and smoking marijuana until the days are no longer fun. The song captured the attention of many youth at the time with its overt allusions to masturbation. Bassist Mike Dirnt has stated that the famous bass line intro to this song was written one night while he was high on LSD,[1] and what remains on the album is what he and lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong could recall in the morning.[2] At most shows in the 21st Century Breakdown World Tour, Billie Joe picked a random audience member to sing the song onstage.[3]
In 1995, Green Day received four Grammy Award nominations, including Best Hard Rock Performance for "Longview". The band won Best Alternative Music Performance for Dookie.[4]Rolling Stone ranked it #3 on the list of Best Singles of 1994.[5]
The song can also be found on their 2001 greatest hits collection International Superhits!, and a live performance can be found on the Bullet in a Bible CD/DVD.

Actually - this is SO random, and I apologize in advance -
But I remember in 95 when Weezer won the VMA for best alternative video (and break through video I think)and I went to school the next day and really rubbed it in my best friend's face because she was a huge Green Day fan.
Okay - thanks for indulging me there. *sings Memories*

Well Dookay won rock album of the year, HA ;) !
