Well Heaven is just meant to be a 'perfect' version of life, so i'm guessing there would be a lot to do. You're meant to experience more fun than would have on earth, more happiness etc, but with no pain etc.

It seems like Christians aren't allowed to use the phrase 'free will' but as for why would God let good people die and suffer..

He had to give us free will for us to be able to love him, because programmed love is not real love. He had to let us run the world without stepping in to magically fix everything because by showing the world as perfect and showing everything as fixable would be taking away our free will again. Humans are ultimately to blame for the pain and suffering of other humans, not God.

The only religious or spiritual text that ever made sense to me was the philosophy of Vitalism; that there is a 'divine spark' that caused the universe to begin expanding and that not everything is up to chance. But even that is a little bit under-developed and doesn't have a lot of logic backing it.

What irritates me is when people say "God, thank you for keeping us safe on our camping trip this weekend!" Like God really cares about you and your f****** camping trip but lets good people starve and die all over the world.

Also, Heaven sounds like an incredibly boring place. What's left to do after you chit-chat with all your family members and compare your white robes?

uh...no. telling people to argue is making a suggestion to start an argument.

if you like to argue about that kind of thing, why didn't you start an argument instead of just telling people to argue?

Yeah go for it..

i made this cause of that make fun of Jesus thread and because i like to argue about that kind of thing ha.

So what makes you believe that?

I think there is a force much greater than chance....

imo people can call It whatever they like and choose to worship It or aknowledge It in any way they choose

but I truly believe It is there....

I don't think this force ever was or ever will be a human or in human form....

I think what I think ...cuz baby I was born this way

What are your doubts? and what makes you think God might be real?

which would then lead to an argument, if that suggestion is followed.

And before you say that stating a straight out argument would have been easier, i'm fine with this way. I've gotten the kind of replies i was looking for.

Yes I believe in God.
Yes i belong to a church.
No, I don't beleive god intervenes in anyones every day life, he doesn't help you find your keys, he doesn't keep you safe camping, and no he doesn't let bad thigns happen to good people. You found your keys all by your self, the bear simply happened to wander into a diffrent camp ground, and humans let bad things happen to good people. Also the whole book of revelations is a bunch of hog wash. No jesus that I know and love is demanding we start killing each other and becoming wiked whores before he comes again. I think he's waiting for everyone to start getting along and stop killing people in his name.
you haven't really started an argument, though, it's just people posting their thoughts on religion.

Unfortunately, I've heard lots of people imply the opposite: that nothing good happens without God making it happen for us. It's whack.

Also, I too am wondering why this thread singles out Christianity and doesn't mention other religions.

unexplained events, the beauty of nature, the magic of science, and coincidence make me believe in God.

All the evil forces in the world also make me believe in God, because I just think its Satan showing himself to us.  So if Satan is real, then there has to be an opposite force, which would be God.

But then I see things like Zeitgiest, and totally write off God, until I realize that Religion is really the farce, not God.

And then other times, I think Aliens put us here....but who created the Aliens?  Alien God?
