I have yet to make my "official list" and I'm not sure I'm going to because it's very hard, but some albums of 2010 I really liked:
In no particular order...
Wolf Parade - Expo 86
Tallest Man on Earth - The Wild Hunt
Ted Leo and the Pharmacists - These Brutalist Bricks
Against Me! - White Crosses
Tegan and Sara - Alligator
Gaslight Anthem - American Slang
The Shimmies - For All Beloved Enemies
Lightspeed Champion - Life is Sweet! Nice to Meet You
The National - High Violet
Steel Train - Steel Train
Crystal Castles - Crystal Castles
and I know for sure I'm missing a bunch. whateverrrrrrrrr, I just looked at my itunes to see what is 2010, but I know a lot aren't labeled by year.

Unrelated but I want to say it anyway.
The biggest problem I have with people compiling year end lists (especially certain publications) people don't list what they like but more what they think will make them look cool or respected by others. Then it gets ironic with people listing all indie bands but like Kayne as #2 lol
The Shimmies (one of the bands I mentioned) are independent.
