it was simply great, i bought 12 bottles, 2 dandelion and burdock, 2 cola, lemonade, limeade, 2 mixed fruit, 2 iron bru and of course 2 sarsaparilla. it instantly reminded me of when i was about 5 or 6 walking back up to the shop with my grandad and all the empty bottles.
i'm pretty sure that no one will care that proper pop may be making a comeback. i just wanted to share this
this could be the dawning of sober times for Jordan Edge...............

and, yeah - we also used to keep the bottles to get 10p back the next week, or take them round the shop :)
so, yeah! sugar & food colouring > alcohol! go j-edge!

Permalink Reply by berry_rydell [berry_rydell] on August 16, 2011 at 3:22am lol i love cockles. i also like rollmops but i've not tried jellied eels (although i have had those tiny, little eels, deep fried - not a fan).
everyone in school had a soda stream when i was a kid - it was the cool thing to have but my mum just said NO WAI :/ probably a wise move - i'd have got so busy with that fizzy.
anyway, things being delivered to your house = awesome. i don't mean like tesco delivering your shopping (although that is awesome, just in a different way). my mum still gets milk and eggs delivered to her door by a local farmer (although she has her own chickens now but they've not started laying yet). we have a meat van where i live - it doesn't call door to door but it comes down the street once a week and it's pretty cheap. i think there's also a veg van, too.

Hmm. I never had a popman as a child. I did, however, have a soda stream. They were s***.
I do remember getting cockles, rollmops and jellied eels from the fish van though. Was never as good as an ice cream.

and I love that you call it pop. Is that what the English call soda-pop? In the states, "pop" is pretty much only said in Michigan and some surrounding areas.
