okay. It's obvious that I'm a geek, but I know other people on here are too, and there must be at least one person on this site, (other than Rivers) who plays or has played D&D.
Me and some buddies put $10 each towards the game yesterday, and we tried to play it today. It was kinda of pathetic and it wasn't nearly as epic and awesome as I expected it to be. I thought it would stretch my imagination and have me make fantasy based decisions about what to say, do, and where to go, but the entire game session was spent rolling dice to attack repetitive enemies. I understand that that is a major part of the game, but that can't just be it, right?
Am I playing this wrong? Or is this actually what the game is like. Any advice on how a beginner can get into the world of Dungeons and Dragons would be helpful.
AND IF NO ONE SERIOUSLY REPLIES TO THIS THREAD, YOU ARE ALL LIARS TOO EMBARRASSED TO ADMIT THAT YOU HOST A D&D GAMES NIGHT EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT.
