Here is a video of my son, Drake, who does not talk at all singing "Holiday".

He has sang songs start to finish on his toys before and has even done scales before and he's sang bits and parts of songs previously. However yesterday he sang "Holiday" start to finish. I was almost in tears. Today I decided to see if he would do it again and he did.

Keep in mind he's not singing the actual words but it sounds like he is trying to which is a HUGE accomplishment.

I keep telling his teachers and therapists to use music to teach him because that is something he responds to the most.

Here you go :)

My favorite part is when he hit the high note at 1:13 haha!

He seems super proud of this video btw.

BTW-- I only posted half for a couple different reasons. The main being that my husband came home from work in the middle of this and distracted Drake and he stopped singing for about 15 seconds so I thought I'd post the rest of it :)

I am really happy for you doll that is truly inspiring
Very inspiring. How old is he? I love that you can see how into it he is. I got a little choked up at 1:29, not gonna lie. I'd say keep pursuing music because there is obviously something special there.
That is so cool and inspiring.

stop using my word, I said it was inspiring first

He's 4 and a half yrs old, Michael. Don't feel bad. 1:29 was choking me up too because you can hear him trying to say "Lets go away, lets go away"-- yesterday in real life.. I was standing back about 10 feet away with my hand over my mouth trying not to laugh or cry, lol!

He doesn't speak to us but he's truly one amazing child. He has a deep love for music and has since he was a baby.

He likes to play the keyboard too! He has 3 toy ones and he plays my real one too. When he has his mind focused on it he will play some really awesome tunes. Someone came over one day around two years ago and they were like "THAT'S DRAKE PLAYING?! I thought that was a toy!"

Thanks everyone for the kind words! It touches me deeply :)

Brofessefef-Thank you SO much for sharing those videos. I watched the entire thing. It was crazy because of the similarities Drake and Derek have. While Drake wasn't 3 months early, he was born early. He was 4lb3oz. He did have to have oxygen but not for long so while the Dr said that could be why he's visually impaired, they're not sure if it truly is. He almost died (in the womb, not in the hospital). He's visually impaired but not blind. In the clip where they were showing Derek as a child, he reminded me of Drake quite a bit. The way he moved and listened. Those videos also answered a TON of questions I had. Thanks again :)

your son has got something special. and, like hintofcoolness said, it was very inspiring. i hope my future kids would appreciate weezer like your son has!
This is adorable! Your son has a great taste in music! You must be really proud :)
