Please excuse my ignorance, however, I am curious as to what compelled people to create an 'alternative board' in the first place. What's the history behind that? Seems a little like reinventing the wheel, so to speak.

A6 was invite only. no trolls there...at least as far as I know. I don't go on there that often.
Allthingsweezer used to have a sweet library of songs that you could download...like all the old Maladroit Demos and most importantly, boardie tribute albums, like the Lifetaker and Runnersdialzero HOMiE tribute album, which, if you haven't heard that, you need to. So so so so good.

weezer.com has changed board software a number of times over the years, and was nearly unusable during the make believe era (and, some might argue, isn't much better today). original boardies split between a number of alternate boards, some focused on weezer, some on all things not weezer. eventually a6 was created and turned into a message board, and ultimately became allthingsweezer.com. it's invite only, and full of "real" weezer fans. they generally look down upon today's .com boardies, despite once being just like them.

Well, there are alternative boards for alternative people, there's a difference in each of the =w= based online communities. A change from a6 to fromtheblackhole.com to a change from the french and south american boards. Chose your favorite, choose 2 of 'em, chose none or chose all, makes no difference. Spreading the word about each, for the good of this nation. You might say for the good of mankind itself. Peace. .commers. Black House leaving this House. lawl.
