my band, Gravity Wins Again, have covered the classic green album track "photograph" as a tribute to weezer and have put it up for you guys to listen to over at www.gravitywinsagain.com

pretty standard drum recording...although we did create a drum tunnel to get a bit more low-end out of the kick. SM57 on snare top and toms, not sure of the overheads though. here are a few pics of the drums in-studio:

Interesting set-up. I've never seen a "drum tunnel" before, haha!

ya, i know its something some bands have done (jimmy eat world, etc.) and we just weren't getting the right sound out of the kick, so our engineer tested it out and amazingly it worked. oh, the kit was a pearl masters series custom kit as well, with zildjian cymbals and vic firth sticks and a dw 5000 pedal, if you wanted to know the drummer-y little details, ha. drummers, they're a strange breed.

not bad... but I would pull back the vocals in the mix, they are a little hot. that's just how i prefer to mix though.
I would 86 those auto tuned backed vocals.
love the name too, btw. is that a reference to futurama?
