what! thats bull... i send you an email on the 15th and i haven't got anything back. just because my phone number isn't an la area code doesn't mean i can't attend... plus even if i'm from phoenix. i was so willing to drive there. so not right.
I wrote an e-mail to weezervideo@gmail right away last week, and didn't hear back.. and then I re-sent it today just in case.. phone number and everything. Get on it, Weezer people in charge! We want to go!
Ok well as you can see/read- We're all eager for the details of Thursday. I too sent several emails since I wasn't sure what info to include. But I will wait patiently and hope I get some info :)
LOL You got a picture of Bean's Cardboard Cut out! I hope everyone had a good time.
so i just got back from the kroq brekky with the weez. it was great..very few people there, and it was in a really small place in santa monica close to the yahoo and geffen offices. they played rock version of: perfect situation (scott vox), pork n beans, say it ain't so, & hash pipe (all 3 with rivers vox), and SUZANNE (!!) (bri/riv shared vox). the suzanne was a pretty big surprise, with some wicked vocal harmonies at the begining before it rocked out. they answered a lot of questions, but not everyone got to ask one. i submitted my GUAL question but wasn't picked to ask. the most revealing thing was probably that bean (dj) asked them about all the extra unreleased stuff they have and rivers specifically said they are going to put together a weezer cd of "odds and ends" and said that would be the name of the exclusive, non bside unreleased track cd. was pretty stoked on that. no release date was mentioned. they talked at length about performing GMTEL live and said it was quite difficult. the room we were in was small as heck, and the sound was enormous. that was basically the first time i'd heard p&b live with ELECTRIC, as i think it is for everyone, and it was a massive sound. very good. they rocked out big time. afterwards i got to speak to brian a bit, but he sorta acted like he was too cool for school. i asked him about the relationship show on saturday and he said they will go on at 11pm here in LA. i'll be there i said, he was glad, but was quick to leave me and my friend. my feelings on bri remain at odds, aside from the fact that i do dig the relationship quite a bit and think he's the most talented outside of riv. maybe he's had too much fan interaction or something. somethings off, kinda weird. also found it ironic that he was the one initially singing suzanne, because he didn't have much to do with the blue album. anyways scott was the nicest of all of them, hugging people and signing a few autos for peeps. mostly rivers and pat just effed off and left so no one could talk to them. overall an amazing experience to see them that close. they are in the midst of a 5 week rehearsal period for the big tour. also a very humorous story about playing reading festival in 96 where they were thrown mud at because the band before them, butthole surfers, told the crowd that "whatever you do, don't throw mud at weezer!". i had never heard that before, so it was cool. peace original m&c=w=
I had a blast at the Breakfast with weezer! THANK YOU so much for doing this for your L.A. fans - we truly appreciate it! It was great how you changed things up a bit with Scott singing vocals on "Perfect Situation" and throwing in a crowd favorite, "Susanne!" Loved hearing the story about the fans almost tippping the tour bus over! =w= Toni-Lynne :D
Sounds like everyone had a cool time. I'm a little sad cuz I just now, yes just now- realized how lame I really am- I got the email from the =w= RE: vid on Thurs and I don't have any "special Skills" like to break a world record and/or play an awesome instrument to Officially "rock out" w/ the band. :0( I CAN be the BEST FAN EVER
*(Ahem, that's why I'm on the street team- Cz I love me some =w= and promote them like crazy!) and join them to SING Along and DANCE LIKE THERE'S NO TOMORROW. I hope I get a confirmation email!!!!!!
My office is right in front of the secret location of the breakfast site - so we got to hear you sing Hashpipe and Troublemaker - it sounded awesome!! Coolest surprise I've had all year!
I was able to win on KROQ last minute for the Kevin and Bean breakfast with =W=. They were amazing. I just kept thinking I'll never be this close to them ever in my life. I was front row, 5ft from rivers and only 2ft from Brian. Wow, what an experience. It is great to see them a large arenas, but to experience such a small and intimate concert like that was something I will truly never forget. Please keep on including the fans (the videos, hootenannys, radios shows etc), these are truly music memories that your fans enjoy. Thank you for doing the K & B show, you were RADNACIOUS! :) Won't be able to make it to video shoot in LA, since I skipped work for the K&B show. I'll see you at the Forum and SD =W=. Keep on rockin and "get dangerous"... BOOYAAAA!
Would have enjoyed more =W= and less Bean/Dave the King of Mexico...but nothing is going to top being 5 feet from the band. I love the hoot concept and would really dig being able to play along for a song or two at the LA show. I'm emailing for the vid now, but if anyone sees this and has plans to follow up on Rivers' comment about bringing fans on stage at the forum for the concert, I'd love to do it!
