Hell Yeah I Was There!

It was awesome. The hour long wait for the bus sucked. The group of guys singing sucked. Would have been really cool if they hadn't been playing all the song we were ABOUT TO PLAY. Jeez. They could argue 'practice' but, come on... Say it ain't so. creep. Say it ain't so. island. F up island when it gets to chorus. say again. Weezer was sick! We sounded GREAT! IT WAS SOOO much fun. The band of people (pun intended) rocked the house. I was the worst player there by far. Sounded really good, and the atmosphere was awesome. Would have sucked if you were one of the 15 people Yahoo! Live Event invited for seat filling. I talked to them because they were watching without guitars and such and they said they didn't even know Weezer was playing, much less who they were. But they sat high and didn't kill our buzz. I had a kick ass seat right behind Rivers in the front row. We played, (not exact order) Pork and Beans Creep Island in the Sun Jamie Say it Ain't So Automatic Surf Wax America El Scorcho Beverly Hills There were a lot of guitars (but everyone could play) a lot of shakers&singers, and a couple of hot girls. Of course any girl at a =w= show is either: with her not good enough for her boyfriend, lesbian, or too meek to flirt back with the guys she wants. Anyone remember the 3rd song we played between filming takes? (Jamie, Surf, ?)

Yay!

This was hands down the happiest day of my life! I got to ask Weezer a question for the Q&A session (so nervous but it was so worth it!) and I had the best time shaking my maraca on the stage behind Brian. I wish I could turn back time and do this all over again. My voice is killing me now and so are my feet, and I'm probably a little sunburnt, but I can't get off this incredible high. It was funny seeing so many dudes and so few women, but that's kind of what I expected. I hope I can go to the next one! This was awesome!!

I remember the 3rd song!

Yeah! It was Troublemaker, and I believe Brian actually started that one! That was the most amazing experience of my life, and I can truly say that I can die happy now.

Still I sit and wait

I wasn't there, but I hope I can be a part of the next LA hootenanny! Looking forward to great stories from those who were there today, as well as more info about the next LA hoot.

it was great

i was right next to scott and was happy to know that he actually heard me say "thats what she said"... good times. he even gave me a chance to make a bigger crowd laugh. the band was stoopid fresh with everybody. i saw karl in the back somewhere... it was awesome. i think the best part was how precise the crowd was... it was the shit!
opaca1

also

i like that rivers taunted the crowd with " i think the last city (i think Seattle?) was more energetic with the stomps..." hehe... of course he said it better.

It was amazing!

I was there and it was pure brilliance! I had a seat on the floor, to the right of Rivers. It was a great spot! Everything actually was really amazing and wonderful. It was even better than the MtV hootenanny thing, I think. And that was mind blowingly awesome!

We are the Weezers

I met my heroes today. Weezer. I shook their hands and had conversations with them. I even got to joke around with Pat a bit. It was the single greatest day of my life! I got all of their autographs. Brian, Pat, River, Scott. (In that order.) They are such amazingly down-to-earth guys. I wish I could've talked to River more, but he had to go to dinner with his Mom. Haha. What a great guy. I even got to play the solo for Beverly Hills! Yes we played Surfwax America. Yes we played Troublemaker. and YES WE PLAYED JAMIE! Simply... Amazing.

great!

what a fun time. hearing 100 acoustic guitars rock out is something that will never ever get old. the band and every one there had a good time. Rivers was astonished the video cameras still used tapes, as if it were 1986.

LA Hootenanny

Obviously, this event was a dream come true. The impromptu streetside jams were awesome and fostered makin' friends fast! The band and all the auxiliary Weezers rocked severely, crushing most of our recording work on the first take. All told, an incredible experience. My only minor complaint is that it really would've been nice to have a meet & greet after the music. I traveled from Albuquerque, NM, and I heard some cats came all the way out from Georgia, so I was a bit disappointed when the band promptly disappeared. Even so, a good time was had by all. =w=
