To Crash_Sweeney --

A very cool fan named somebodysheine on Youtube posted the audio from the Sirius radio appearance. I hope that that helps! Have a great day.

contest

For me, the video on the contest page was only about 35 seconds long, which changes the answer to the dribbling question drastically. Just wanted to make sure I watched the right thing. It was a clip of the full video, which I've seen

Contest

It asks for the kind of shoe so do they want like a black formal shoe or something you can t tell from the vid

Contest

I'm assuming that they want you to answer based on the full length vid - I don't see why it would be a trick question, but maybe I'm giving them too much credit. Since they ask for the "kind" of shoe, I'm guessing "black formal" would work, but I don't know. Anyone have a count on home many dribbles? I count either 10 or 11.

Guys...

I'm all for making money. Heck, we all gots to pay the mortgage and eat, but seriously. This is the most contrived bit of cross-promotion I've seen from this band since the muppets. It just has a sick way of reminding me of the crackerjack prize that the kid in "A Christmas Carol" gets. He breaks the code and it tells him to eat more product. I hope you're being sarcastic, or at least able to remodel your bathroom. I'm definitely not the greatest Weezer fan that ever lived. I think we all know who they were. Weezer for Life, Jon

It does say...

Not "A Christmas Carol..."

Definitely "Christmas Story." No Cracker Jacks in Dickens. Sorry

Just the clip...

I'm pretty sure they mean just the clip not the whole video, it says watch the clip then answer the questions. =/

My thoughts on the new album

I think this is one of their best albums. Ranking it hard, but I would have to atleast tie it with the green album if you said Blue, Pinkerton and then Green were the top three. I don't know about the two "non-Rivers" vocals track, and not necessarily because the vocals aren't good. Pat's a decent singer and Scott's vocals are angelic, but I just don't dig the melodies of those songs. Strangely, the song "King" which is considered one of the "bonus" tracks is one of my favorites and I wonder if it couldn't have substituted for one of the other "non-Rivers" vocal tracks that are considered to be on the "regular" portion of the album. So for me the only reason this isn't the BEST Weezer album is thoughs "non-Rivers" vocal tracks, which I consider to have sub-par melodies written for them. However, this album has by far some of the best Weezer songs ever, the aforementioned "King", which is one of the best songs and should have been on the "regular" portion of the album. I think "Dreaming" is a wonderful track and, again, Scott's vocals are so angelic they sound child-like. "TAATO" is really great, though the lyrics certainly have strong tones of Rivers' Vipassanna cult. I think "Spider" and "Pig" are just two of the best damn songs every- both hilarious and sad at the same time, and Rivers pulls it off beautiful in the melodies and progressions. I love "Ms. Sweeney"- the lyrics are just so tight. And the rest of it, the new "crunk" direction they've taken, is quite entertaining. Overall I like it better than the Green album, but not quite as good as Blue and Pinkerton of course because it's not "perfect". I guess my favorite thing about the album is Rivers has gotten over his "oh so poor me I can't get a girl" attitude, and is writing some intelligent, broadly minded songs. The lyrics strike me as more straight forward than any other Weezer album, and I most like the "positive", "rebellious" message in the song. I think Rivers has done an excellent job of tapping into the sub-conscience thought of the collective conscience of America. I mean really I know the albums just out and I haven't had time to get tired of it so it's hrd to compare to Blue and Pinkerton until it's had a few years to simmer, but I tell you I really like it better in some ways because it's just fun. It's a damn fun album!

Oh nd one more thing

I really like Rivers' new mustache and I don't even like mustaches, but I like his, and the slight paunch he sports on the cover is kind of cool too... and this seems to really go well with "IATGMTEL" which sounds, might I say, "Queen" like? I'm really curious what kind of stage show their going to put on. I kind of expect it having to be somewhat "dramatic" to go along with the new "music", but I just hope it's doesn't come off like some tacky "corporate" style display.

oh and

Nice job with the site. I was showing my friend the "Pork and Beans" video and saw all these other great ones on the media page. "Cool beans". BTW I am TGFTEL, having seen Weezer three times in my home state of GA and flown to Japan to see them three times in Tokyo for their last tour, and having owned every single "CD" including the singles (except for the singles from the Blue album- I think I was still playing tapes back then [and may have bought that one and Pinkerton several times in different formats or after having lost them, etc.) So I am TGFTEL, but I have neither the time nor mental energy in read about a contest or enter. Goodbye now.

Rolling Stone Interview

Weezer's blue album did have that clean-cut sound which was different from Janes Addiction and Nirvana. The buddy holly video helped define that also. Blue Album was very refreshing to me at the time. It was a trend setting album. I believe weezer has a way of changing with the times, while still keeping their "sound". The Red Album has a similar "attitude" as todays pop music, but I want weezer to make me feel like I did in '94.
